Dragonflies with a Little Sparkle

Isn’t it nice to tell someone that you’re grateful for them being in your life? I think so, too. And this card is perfect for saying that directly.

I used the circle stamps of many sizes to create a backdrop for my dragonfly and this wonderful sentiment. Love these colors together and I could have created for days with these shades. This set is a new dragonfly set by Catherine Pooler Designs.

How about a birthday card with some of these colors and a sparkly dragonfly?

I was inspired by my dear mother to create some subtle backgrounds with sparkly dragonflies on top. Purples and blues and sparkles. Can’t go wrong!

I used the new circles stencil with some grays and blues. Maybe even a touch of purples. For the dragonfly, I used various copic marker colors and covered it with a glitter embossing powder.

I think I will keep going on this train of dragonflies. Having so much fun!

Rainbow Dragonflies with a Gray Tone Background – with VIDEO

It’s that time of year. New beginnings, great shopping deals (I couldn’t help it), cold weather (for me), and a time to give thanks after all of the fun of the holidays. I created this fun duo of cards to help me give my thanks.

I was inspired at StampNation, by a fellow crafter who showcased the idea of doing a muted background and adding a rainbow pop of color on top. What a great and simple idea to follow! I knew right away that I wanted to create something similar. I grabbed my new dragonfly stamp set and went for it!

WATCH ME MAKE THESE CARDS

I posted a quick video to YouTube and you can see how this one card idea turned into two. It was just fun to color the rainbow dragonfly. I couldn’t stop at one card.

This one uses a new stencil that came out with the dragonfly release from Catherine Pooler Designs. I really love the stencil and my new stencil mat from Waffle Flower. That thing is perfectly cool (you can see me use it in the video!). I used some rectangle and fun die-cuts to give me some layers, but I have run out of puffy tape to give it dimension. That’s on my list for ordering.

My motor city sequins mix, from CPDesigns was the perfect fit for these cards. Complete with tiny stars for just the right touch. I could have added even more – I feel like that is the perfect kind of trail coming with a dragonfly.

I know a certain someone who will enjoy my dragonfly cards. Next up, I’m seeing a birthday card with these cuties. Stay tuned!

Warm Winter Wishes – Skating Bunny Cuteness

A perfect winter scene… bunnies and skates.

I was in the mood to create a winter card, so I went on Facebook live (find me on ‘The Crafting Life’) and created this sweet bunny card. How can you not just fall in love with them?! This time, I put them on a small ice rink, under a beautiful tree. All products are from Catherine Pooler Designs.

I love these colors together. This paper pack has my heart. I think I’ll stick with this palette for a while.

I added sequins along the tree, kind of a nod to snow. And wouldn’t you know, this week, we finally got the real snow! Winter is finally here! More snowing and skiing bunnies in our future.
